The port is located on north-west of the ice-free Golden Horn Bay. It was founded in 1897. Coordinates: in lat 43°07' N and long 131°53' E. Harbor approach depth is more than 30 m. The call sign is “Vladivostok-Port Control” on channel VHF 67. Year-round navigation. The time zone: GMT +11 hours. There are stevedore, agency, freight-forwarding, towage, surveying, tally and other companies in the port that provide a wide range of services complying with International standards. The Port of Vladivostok is situated on north-west of the ice-free Golden Horn Bay. The port is open to Russian and foreign vessels all year round. It serves 16 lines, including 10 container lines, 4 Ro-Ro and 2 passenger lines.
Advantageous geographical location of the Port of Vladivostok predetermines its significant role in overseas and short-sea shipping traffic in Asia-Pacific region. Major foreign traffic flows link the port with South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Major part of cabotage traffic goes to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Magadan, Anadyr, Korsakov and ports of Chukotka. Vladivostok Commercial Port is conveniently positioned for cargo carriage by various transport modes: truck, rail. Its layout as well as the region’s railways structure makes cargo transportation by rail to/from the port cheaper than from other ports nearby. Port's world-class servicing infrastructure includes stevedoring, agency, forwarding, towage, surveyor, tallyman and other companies.
The premises of the sea commercial port are located in a section of the coastal strip having a width of 200 to 300 mtrs along Berths Nos. 1 through 11, and a width of up to 600 meters at Berths Nos. 12 through 16. The Port is opened for navigation all the year round and can handle vessels of: Up to 260 meters in length; Up to 11.0 meters in draft. Any vessels having greater dimensions than the above ones may only call at the Port with the Harbour Master's special permission. The depths at the approaches to the inner roads of the Port are navigable for vessels having a draft up to 19 meters.

The projects is aimed at constructing a specialized oil and oil products handling complex, fitted with modern equipment and using environment friendly and safe technologies. Estimated oil-base turnover will be about 1 mln. tones, with storing capacity of 41 000 c.m. of oil products at a time.
